Summer can be hot and humid in Dubai but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring.

We have asked our team in Betterhomes to share their tips on the city’s best places to visit during blazing summer months. Here they are:

Farm Restaurant, Al Barari
“One of the nicest hidden places in Dubai is The Farm Restaurant in Al Barari. During the summer months, the outdoor glass tent is an ideal place to escape the heat and enjoy the fresh food surrounded by lush greenery and fish pond.”

–           Ben Bargh – Director of CRC

The Coffee Museum, Bur Dubai
“It is located in the Al Fahidi district also known as  Bastakia where you have the Dubai Museum, Al Fahidi fort which I think is the oldest structure in Dubai. The coffee museum is a great place to stop by if you’re in the area for a cup of coffee and look at the history of coffee in the region.”

Brothaus Bakery-Bistro/Restaurant, Business Bay
“Amazing place with great vibes. Really good German food. You can have coffee, food, or drinks. They also do German bakery classes. So a great venue to spend time indoors during the summer.”

–           Zubin Firozi – Director of Operations

Shades pool, Address Dubai Marina
“At the weekend in the summertime, you will find me cooling down at Shades pool in the Address Hotel Dubai Marina where early birds can grab cabana for the day and relax with a chilled coconut, I usually take my Ipad to catch up on the week’s Coronation Street!”

–           Thomas Dainty – Senior Branch Manager

Stomping Grounds, Jumeirah
“My escape is usually on a Friday afternoon with my girls at Stomping Grounds.  A quaint coffee joint in Jumeirah 1.  They have a wide range of coffee selection to die for with a divine menu away from the drone of modern life.”

–           Alia Jamal – Branch Manager

Kite&Surf, Jumeirah Beach
“My go-to place in summer will be kayaking in Jumeirah Beach. Weekend mornings are the best time to do it during summer. If you are a member of Classpass you can use the app to hire the kayak or just pay AED 60 on the spot. Kayaking will help to get your cardio done for a day and restore balance with scenic Burj Al Arab and city skyline views.”

–           Aliya Siraeva – Marketing Executive

Aquaventure Waterpark Waterpark Atlantis, Palm Jumeirah
“Enjoy a hot summer day submerged in water at the fun-packed Aquaventure Waterpark.  With over 30 attractions to choose from, there is something for all members of the family to enjoy. There is a 2.3 KM lazy river for the less adventurous and leaps of faith for the thrill seeker. There are also plenty of swimming pools to relax by while the kids experience the attractions.  Food can also be quite pricey so worth bringing along a cooler bag with a packed lunch.  And the best part residents holding Mastercard can enjoy the special fare of AED 165. Open 10 am till sunset daily”

–           Alisha Azzopardi – Head of Holiday Homes & Preferred Partners

Wasit Wetland, Sharjah
“The place I recommend is not in Dubai, it’s actually in Sharjah which is called Wasit Wetland in Al Wasit area. It’s a beautiful place with a big lake surrounded by green vegetation, a lot of birds and animals. And it’s very cheap, with some 20 DHS you can roam the entire park in a buggy”

–          Praveen Nair- Property Supervisor

Tee & Putt, Wafi Mall
“When it is hot to play golf outside mini-golf in the dark helps hone these skills. At Tea & Putt you can play indoor-version of the game aiming for one of the 18-holes and sometimes meet aliens too!”

–           Scott McGeachy – Assistant Manager – Residential Sales & Leasing

Emirates National Auto Museum, Abu Dhabi
“Located close to South of Abu Dhabi on the way to Liwa Oasis, this exquisite attraction has one of the largest collection of trucks and cars in the world. It was also featured in ‘Top Gear’ a premier program on BBC. Great places to visit with kids and for automobile enthusiasts.

–           Sumedha Gupta – Head of Finance

Tub of Butter restaurant, SZR
“Actually owned by a client of mine whom I rented property in DIFC. Very welcoming and full of wholesome natural flavors and for anyone that’s from the UK, this is just as good as not better than Whole Foods in the UK. Perfect place for families on weekend, business meetings during the week and just a genuinely good time with great flavors.

–           Andero Morgos – Residential Consultant

Hatta Dam, Hatta
“My favourite and hidden gem in Dubai would be Hatta Dam. It’s a natural water dam located in Hatta, and it’s somewhere where I love to spend my time relaxing and kayaking!”

–         Matthew Fry – Recruitment Executive

Extreme Fun, Motor City
“Indoor soft play area for toddlers and small children in Motor city. Perfect place to escape the heat with kids”

Air Maniax, Al Quoz
“Located in Al Quoz, this big centre offers an inflatable soft playground with parents’ chill-out area over-looking the play while you can relax and sip your coffee”

–           Robert Villalobos – Branch Manager

The Limetree Café, SZR
“My tips are to keep toddlers (and dads!) entertained around Jumeirah. Firstly the LimeTree Cafe of SZR. It is a big and light space so you don’t feel trapped indoors, the breakfasts are great and there is a little playroom for younger kids. I can happily spend an hour reading the paper over breakfast while my daughter entertains herself.”

Mercato Mall slide, Jumeirah
“My second tip is the giant slide at Mercato Mall. It is great fun for kids and dads, it tires out the most active kids going up and down it and most importantly it is free!”

–           Richard Waind –  Group Managing Director
